Images from Recent Day-Sails

I’ve sailed three or four times this week, and taken my camera each time.  Each time out by itself doesn’t constitute a post, but selected images from all of them seems to offer enough variety.

While backing into my slip one windy day this week, I managed to catch my bimini cover on a nail driven into a piling.  Fortunately, it only pulled a turn button off, which (amazingly) landed in the cockpit.

This is what pulled off and fell into the cockpit.

Oops!

Just missing this backing plate, then I can put it back together.

My father-in-law at the helm. We had a great sail yesterday, with winds 20-plus knots at times.

I was happy to have shortened sail before I even left the marina. Saved a struggle with flogging canvas on the water.

We’re moving pretty good, but not over-powered.

Classic yawl. What a beauty!

  1. I found the sixth picture confusing, until I realized that I was seeing reflection of the waves off of the sheer stripe.

    • Sorry about the confusion. I assumed it was plain to everyone but that’s because I took the photo. You haven’t learned to read my mind after all these years?

      • No, and I don’t want to either. Some things are better kept private.
